Last came here three years ago, so the park has matured after all the earth
works to expose the river. View west, the River Wandle goes
back into a underground culvert for about 750m under the Purley Way before re-appearing east of Waddon Ponds, which it also fills.

Skate park and tennis courts.
Down the bank next to the river, only saw one Moorhen here.
Looking across the river to the new pond and bandstand.
The eastern end of the river.
There may be Coots or Moorhens here, but well hidden.
View west along the river.

Children's playground and cafe.
Again looing east from over the river entry.
The new pond near the bandstand, fully mature will planting and water lilies.
A Moorhen family amongst the plants, hard to see.
Another view of the pond, the planting makes it hard to feed any birds on the
pond. Travellers mobile homes and caravans had taken over
the playing field a day or two earlier and have been given notice to quit.
